Here’s a Catholic take on the familiar Fiat Ad. As you may know “Fiat” in Latin means “let it be done.” Mary said to the Angel “Fiat mihi secundum verbum tuum” (let it be done to me according to your Word). And thus Mary accepts God’s plan for her and all of us. Also in the Our Father are the words “fiat Voluntas tua” (Thy will be done). So, is Fiat about a car or a properly conformed will?
